Workshops, NEW Business/Demo Kits and MORE!
Hello Heritage Makers!
It's hard to believe today was the last day of an incredible Reunion! Next year, it will be wonderful to have YOU here! There is so much great information, networking with other consultants and sharing ideas and support - AND being there for the excitement of the great announcements!

I started the morning with a GREAT workshop by Karen Phelps who has 22 years of success in the direct sales industry and she is now a trainer...AND she is now a Heritage Makers consultant. She loves it and has already done a book!
Her workshop was about getting bookings and it was WONDERFUL!
I am going to offer an email (perhaps a webinar) to review her information and what was shared and I will get that information out next week, so you can join me in putting it into ACTION!
However, in the meantime, she did highly recommend reading "The Art of Influence", by Chris Weidner. She just finished it and said it was fabulous and something we all should read. So, that is a "to do" until her "bookings" information is sent out in my email next week. :)

How to Sponsor New Heritage Makers Consultants
1. Share YOUR Story - In 2 minutes or less. Practice it. It should be brief but compelling.
* You have to BELIEVE that you have an absolutely fantastic opportunity. Then, people will follow you anywhere!
2. Talk to your Workshop hostess THREE TIMES about becoming an HM consultant - Why three? Our first reaction is "no" and then we ask for information.
First Time: When you are Hostess Coaching - your Hostess packet should ALWAYS contain an HM Business Opportunity brochure.
Karen also did "sample scripts" (which I LOVED!). Here is one for this topic of how to possibly approach your hostess about the business, during hostess coaching:
"By the way, have you ever thought about doing something like this? Take this (Business Opportunity brochure) home and read it tonight. I am going to give you a call tomorrow to answer any questions you have. I can call you at 10 or at 5 - which time works best for you?" (ALWAYS SET UP THE TIME TO CALL WITHIN 48 HOURS OF WHEN YOU GIVE THEM THE BROCHURE, MATERIAL, ETC.)
***THE FORTUNE IS IN THE FOLLOW-UP!***
Second Time: 3-4 days before Workshop, talk with your host and say:
"By the way, have you thought more about doing something like this?"
If they say, "yes." Ask if you can come to their Workshop early to get them signed up and then the sales from their Workshop will be the first sales to start their new business!
If they are not ready to say, "yes"...then you can say:
"Should you decide to be a Heritage Makers consultant. Is there anyone who you would need to discuss this with before you sign up?"
Usually, this is a spouse. Ask for the spouse to be there when you meet early before the Workshop. This defuses the "I have to ask my husband" excuse and gets the new consultant and loved one on the same page regarding her new business.
If Hostess signs up before Workshop:
Great! Get bookings and sales/commissions for new consultant - VERY motivating and helps YOU too!
If they host hasn't joined yet....
Third Time: When placing orders.
"You watched what I did and saw how easy it is. You could make $150 tonight - in addition to your host rewards! Could you use $150 a couple of times a week?"
WAIT for an answer - everyone could use or would like that additional income
"REMEMBER...You are training someone at every single Workshop you do - you just don't know who that person is yet!"
"Don't overdo your presentation. Keep it simple."
"If someone says, 'I could never do what you do.' You should reply with, 'What part couldn't you do...the fun? The freedom and flexibility of my time? The great trips?"
IMPORTANT...Hand select from each Workshop, someone that you want to work with - they show interest, the "get the vision", they ask a lot of questions, etc.
You could select 1-3 people - maximum of 3.
When you find someone:
* When you are taking their order and writing it down, LOWER your voice and SAY...
"You are so fun. You are the life of the party! (or something that compliments them), then, "You would be so good at this! Have you ever thought of doing something like this? Wow! Wow! and Wow!
That's what I kept saying today, over and over again! Every speaker, every workshop, every announcement - amazing!
And every time that happens, I wish you were here!
Okay...let's start from the beginning. This morning felt like it was two days ago - it has been a great day that has been PACKED with information!
Guest Speaker: Joey O'Conner, Executive Director of The Grove Media and Arts Center
His family recently was able to go on a trip to Africa where they were very involved in humanitarian efforts. His eyes welled up with tears and his voice cracked - "This book captures my story. I know now that it this is now part of our story and there is no unfinished business - the story is written of our family's experience there."

There is an URGENCY to what you are doing.
When you are writing a story, when you start page one, you are making a promise that it will be well told."

OPRAH WINFREY LOVES HERITAGE MAKERS BOOKS!!!!!!!

Brenda's Story
Brenda Kruse, a Heritage Makers consultant from Iowa, wrote a book for Oprah about the passing of Oprah's dog, Gracie. Though, not a "pet person" herself, Brenda connected to Oprah's article about the lesson she learned from Gracie's death about the need to "Slow Down."
Brenda had a 5x5 credit in her account, so she made a "Gracie's Gift" book for Oprah and sent it to her at Harpo Studios.
A few weeks later, Brenda received a call that went straight to her voicemail. When she checked her messages, she about passed out!
Oprah Winfrey took the time to personally call Brenda to thank her for the "lovely, lovely gift" of the book she made. "I love this," her voicemail said and then, "Every story deserves a book of its own. You know I believe that!" She was reading from the cover of the sleeve that is on every Heritage Makers book!!!

Oh, What a Night!
Hello everyone!
Greetings from California! I am rooming with Sharon Murdoch, Candy May and Heidi Arave - it's just like the days of My Family Tales - the four of us together again! But BETTER!
Where do I begin?!
Heidi and I first got off the plane to a sign that said "HM Rock Stars!" that was being held by Candy.
"That's what you are!"
We arrived at the hotel to visit with about 500 HM consultants - EVERYONE IS SO EXCITED TO BE TOGETHER! This is what Reunion is all about.
We spent the late afternoon visiting with other consultants and of course - SHARING STORIES and SHOWING STORYBOOKS!
...and checking out the entire HM car wrap of Barbara and Neville Gordon-Carroll from Mesa, AZ! Wow!!!! (Does it help business - yep!)
Lisa Branch really "shines" as a Heritage Maker consultant!
The Opening Session began with lots of fun, prizes and "Race to Reunion" recognition. Some consultants who earned Race points earned over $1,000 in CASH that they took home - their families were happy to help out!
Mary Hansen has lots of family support! All of her sisters are consultants and her parents, husband and daughters were there to cheer her on too!
Bianca came from Washington and we were all "princesses" with fun tiaras from Sharon and Candy.
Lisa Nelson brought little Cambree - to get her started as a consultant early!
Then, Doug Cloward, President of Heritage Makers, spoke and I had to write down some of his words to share with you.
First of all...it is truly a miracle that he was even AT Reunion. He has been fighting cancer since April and in the first stages, was told that he could only have a few days to live! After very challenging chemotherapy sessions, infections and bouts of pneumonia and sickness, his body was not responding the way doctors had hoped it would. After strong faith, fasting and prayers, the doctors found his blood count start to go up and he was able to be there tonight. Look at this picture below - it's hard to believe that this amazing, smiling man (with his daughter, in the picture) was not doing well in the hospital two weeks ago!
Here are some of Doug's words tonight - I couldn't wait to share them with you!
As you know the theme of Reunion 2008 is "The Digital Adventure"...
The Digital Adventure is the POWER to:
* Reach back to the past and pull the heroes, values, traditions and lessons from our past and pull them into the present.
Chris Lee, CEO, shared this special story: "This is a true story. I was working and getting ready for Reunion when my 7-year-old son came in and said 'Dad, why do we fight in wars?' This was a serious question that I knew he had really thought about and I knew that I needed to stop what I was doing and take the time to talk with him. It was then that I left my desk and computer and sent over to our bookshelf and took down three Heritage Makers books. Each book was about one of his ancestors that had fought in a war and their story. My son and I spent over a half an hour reading the stories of his great grandfathers. His question was answered through the stories of his family - his heritage."

IT'S ALMOST HERE!
The HM Reunion starts Thursday night and I can hardly wait! I am looking forward to getting together with consultants from across the United States and Canada, exciting news, great updates to our HM website - and to our HM business - and so much more!!!!
